Available Programs and Properties

On 04/08/2025, at 8:00AM the Lake County Housing Authority will open its 1-bedroom waiting list for income qualified households of no more than two persons for the following properties:

Public Housing Senior Communities

For applicants where head of household must be at least 55 years of age:

  • Hawley Manor - Grayslake, IL
  • Beach Haven Tower - Round Lake Beach, IL

For applicants where head of household must be at least 55 years of age or have a disability:

  • Shiloh Tower - Zion, IL

Before You Apply

1. Review HUD's Fraud Notice: Before applying, you must review the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development document available at: https://illakecounty.tenmast.com/apply/content/home/FormHUD-1141.pdf. This document explains that knowingly providing false or misleading information to obtain assisted housing constitutes fraud and carries penalties.

2. Gather Required Information: Have the names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers ready for all household members.

3. Review Housing Options: If you're unsure which housing program or property best suits your needs, please review the property and program descriptions on our website https://www.lakecountyha.org/locations/list before beginning your application. Visit our website for information about our Public Housing Senior buildings.

Important Reminders

  • There are no fees for applying to our waiting lists.
  • Applications are processed in order by date and time of submission.
  • All mailing address changes MUST be submitted in writing to the Agency.
  • Save your Log In ID and Password! You will need this information to check your application status.

When the waiting list is open, go to https://housing.lakecountyha.org to apply online. 

To create your Lake County Housing Authority account and apply online you must have a valid email address.

If you do not have an active email address, you will need to create one (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.).
