On June 12, 2020, Governor Pritzker signed Public Act 101-0640 incorporating amendments to the Open Meeting Act. 5 ILCS 120/7(e) (West 2018), as amended by Public Act 101-0640, allowing a public body to hold an open or closed meetings by audio/video conference without the physical presence of a quorum of the members during a public health disaster.
On March 9, 2020. Governor Pritzker issued Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation declaring all counties in the State of Illinois as a disaster area in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Lake County Housing Authority, with guidance by counsel, has determined that an in-person meeting or a meeting conducted under OMA is not practical or prudent because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the inherent dangers.
Lake County Housing Authority continues to follow social distancing requirements and Governor Pritzker's Stay-At-Home order. Consequently, this meeting is being held as an audio/video teleconference to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the staff and public.
Public comments may be submitted by email to publiccomment@lakecountyha.org or by leaving a message at (847) 223-1170 ext. 2320. Comments received by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 will be read at the appropriate time in the agenda. Public Comments are limited to three minutes. All comments received will be included in the meeting minutes regardless of whether they are read aloud at the meeting.
